Ayurveda is the art of “you”, the owner’s manual of your own self-healing and over time it becomes something that you remember and know to be true at a deep level. At its essence, Ayurveda is an ancient healing medicine of feeling that teaches you about who you are, encompassing much more than a symptomatic approach to health. Ayurveda teaches you the way your unique mind and body communicate so that real change can begin to happen. Disease will not last in a body-mind that is flowing in harmony with the rhythms of the cosmos, which sustain the material world with energy. ~ Maya Tiwari Video:The secrets of ayurveda Ayurveda: The Science of Life
Ayurveda is an energy medicine working with nature’s five elements: space/ether, air, fire, water and earth. Each has its own specific energetic properties. As humans, we are made up of a unique combination of these elements, which characterize our own individual unique blueprint. In Ayurveda, self-healing begins when we are able to recognize that the elements around us in nature are also inside of us. Ancient living system of medicine Ayurveda has existed for thousands of years, yet each new generation continually refines its ancient wisdom, allowing it to be a “living” science. Einstein’s theory of relativity emerged long after Ayurveda stating that energy and matter are expressions of the same universal energy or substance. Ayurveda recognizes a similar field of intelligence, named “Pure Consciousness.” Ayurveda’s belief in the connection between mind, body and spirit recognizes that restoring balance is about looking at all levels of the human experience. It is an aromatic resin from trees of the Boswellia species that has been burned as an incense. This is done to purify the atmosphere since time immemorial in temples, churches, and for sacred rituals. The Frankincense gum traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine is known as Dhoopam. It is said that its smoke wards off bad spirits and sickness, and carry prayers to the Divine. A secondary benefit to burning the resin is that it acts as a natural insect repellent. It is also used around the newborn babies and the new mothers to keep them safe from the airborne viruses and bacteria.

It has a purifying effect on the mind and nervous system, and helps to burn impurities from the subtle nerve channels. It can be used in herbal formulas that have an affinity to the mind and nervous system like gotu kola and calamus root as an aid to meditation. It is known to be highly antiseptic and antiviral as well as supportive to the immune system. For treating respiratory complaints, the essential oil is best infused into the atmosphere with an essential oil nebulizer or diluted into a base oil or blend that can be massaged on the chest. Frankincense oil has a gorgeous woody, earthy, spicy scent that blends perfectly with citrus oils like lemon or orange in your diffuser to make your home smell warm, cozy, and welcoming. It wondrously helps one breathe better. The oil can be used to regenerate skin cells thus helping with the healing of wounds, and to decrease dryness, scar tissue, stretch marks, and wrinkles.
